He has been practicing at the Damansara
Specialist Hospital since its inception in 1997 and
is one of the pioneer group of specialist in the hospital.
He heads the Obstetrics & Gyneacology department
at the hospital. His special interest is in Maternal
Fetal Medicine which deal with High Risk pregnancies,
Advanced Obstetrics Ultrasound and invasive procedures
in Onstetruiics like amniocentesis and CVS (Chorion
Villus Biopsy). Besides this he is also very experienced
in gynaecology and gynaecology surgery including basic
keyhole laparoscopysurgry. He receives numerous referral
particularly for invasive procedures like amniocentesis,
CVS and Advanced 3D/4D Ultrasound.
Prior to this appointment he was senior consultant
and deputy Head at the Maternity Hospital at Kuala
Lumpur General Hospital. This unit is the largers
in the country. He also sets up the Maternal Fetal
Unit at the Hospital in 1992 which is the first such
unit within the Ministry of Health. He also and
set the module for training and diagnostic for Ultrasound
at the hospital.
He initiated the Ministry of Health Perinatal audit
mechanism which resulted in the National Perinatal
Death Enquiry. He has served in various committees
at Ministry as a consultant particularly
in issues dealing with Perinatal health and ultrasound.
He still is active in the Ministry Perinatal Committee.
He was an examiner for the University Kebangsaan Undergraduate
and tutor for several of the postgraduate trainees.
He was the founder President of the Perinatal Society
of Malaysia and was twice its President. He was also
President of the Obstetrical & Gynaecological
Society of Malaysia and is currently in the Society
council. He is also vice president of the society
foundation The ObGyn Foundation.
